Question Interior stone wall

When transforming a wall from just sheet rock to thin stone veneer, do you need to reinforce the floor to accommodate the weight of the stone wall?

If I understand how you are intending to do your wall the weight of the stone born by the wall so the it is not supported by the floor, except that the floor supports the wall.

I was just curious if adding that extra weight weight to the wall would require reinforceing the floor.

You usually do not have to reinforce the floor. However, you may want to look at not installing over drywall, but instead replacing the drywall with cement board. Cement board is designed to make a good bond with the thinset or mortar used to attach the stone. Drywall rely's on paper bonded to gypsum to give it strength. Any moisture will degrade that bond. Moisture will have no effect on the cement board bond.
