How should I repair this?

There is no water damage or anything. I think because of a small truss uplift issue I have in the room beside this, it was putting stress on this drywall joint.

So how would I go about fixing this so that it looks as close to the rest of the ceiling as possible?

Thanks!

The easiest thing would be to leave it as most probably won't even notice

To repair you need to fill the depression in with joint compound, sand, retexture, prime and paint.... or is that tape that is pooched up?? If that is the case you'd need to cut out the failing tape, retape, add mud as needed, sand, texture, prime and paint.

The joint is pooched up. If I push up on the ceiling drywall, I can see it move.

Thanks! Sounds like I'll have to cut it out.

I'm getting ready to put our house up for sale in the late winter/early spring.

Thanks for your help! What would be the best way to try and recreate the rosebud texture? I don't have a brush

Keep in mind if it did it once, it will probably do it again. As for the texture, it was done with a round brush... see the round size in the upper right corner of your picture? Get a round texture brush if you want it to match.

Possibly this one.

Just to be clear, you only have to cut out the loose tape, the drywall is ok.
Thin the j/c down a little with water and either apply it with the brush or smear some mud on the ceiling and then texture it with the brush.
