Where to buy 5/8 Sheetrock Panel

I have a small repair job i need to do. About 12" x 3". My drywall is 5/8". The problem I have is that I can't find a place that sells 5/8 drywall in a panel small enough to get in my car. Anyone have any recommendations?

Try a mom and pop lumber yard and ask if they have any broken sheets.

You might also check some construction sites, they always have scrap drywall when the building is at that stage of construction. While using 5/8" would be easiest, you could use 1/2" and either shim it out or build it up with mud .... since it's such a small repair.

I may just build it up since it'll likely end up behind a tile back splash anyway.

Ceiling For Fishing Cabin

Came across a way to do a ceiling that seems to meet all that I am looking for. I was wondering what would be the best sheet rock to use so that sagging will not be noticed - 1/2 sag resistant, 5/8 etc). Please note that no nails/screws will be used on the sheet rock. Creaky Exterior Wall-Vaulted Ceilings

We have a seven year old wooden-framed home with siding exterior. One exterior wall of our home makes a creaky wood-on-wood sounding noise in high winds. Unfortunately we see very high winds frequently in the winter. This exterior wall belongs to a room with vaulted ceilings (with two sky lights) and then the back portion of this 'grand room' has standard height ceiling. I believe the wall is 12 feet high and the valuation portion. The noise appears to be coming from the vaulted portion of the wall closer (but a couple of feet away) to where the vaulting ends. We have had the siding replaced, and we have gone into the attic over the standard ceiling and have added braces to the joists. The bracing helped some but has not eliminated the problem. We have had insurance companies, and contractors in and no one can seem to pinpoint the problem. Albeit, none have come on extremely windy days when you can hear the noise. I should also add that the ceiling/roof has two sunlight, that we exclusively only hear this noise in high winds, the crown molding has moved away from the wall slightly in this area, the noise seems to be around where the wall meets the ceiling. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
