Embassy Ceiling? Anyone installed it?

I'm not sure how long this suspended ceiling system has been around, but it does look easy to install and appears to look quite good. Comments anyone?

I wonder how it prices out compared to conventional suspended ceiling systems?

No experience with this particular system, but the only drawbacks I see is the rails are of MDF, and will be subject to moisture collection and swelling. The manner in which the cross pieces are just laid in is a little suspect, too. If there is not a perfect fit, it seems they could become dislodged. It is a pretty system, however, and may be suitable for your application.

Thanks for responding Larry! I agree MDF could be an issue if moisture is present. I wonder how hard it will be to get it level?

Shouldn't be a big deal to install it level, you'd use shims if/where needed. I'd be more concerned with the MDF getting waves in it between fastening points.

Hopefully with the support brackets attached to each floor joist, this support prevents the MDF from sagging.
