What anchors to use
I want to hang a central vacumn unit on drywall. What are the best type of anchors to hold such a unit?

Why are you trying to attach it to just the drywall, makes no since.
Attach it to the studs.
Short of that add 2 X 4's to the studs and attach the unit to the 2 X 4's.

Can you tell us how much the vacuum weighs? I've hung flat screen TVs with plastic anchors. I did pull ups on the bracket before mounting the TV. Toggle bolts would be stronger. If you can hit at least 1 stud, any of the above will work.
