Can I paint walls before tiling backsplash?

We're remodeling our bathroom. Floor is done, but the bullnose tile baseboards aren't installed yet. Vanity cabinets are in and shower has been mudded and sheetrocked.

We've got about a week of downtime now while we wait for the granite vanity top to be installed. Tiling is at a standstill because the backsplash can't go in until the granite, and the backsplash also runs as a ribbon through the shower so they probably want to tile everything at once.

Wouldn't now be a perfect time to paint the walls? We've already got the dust pretty well cleared from the air. The paint might overlap just a little into the tile space, but it'd be way easier than masking off and cutting in all the tile edges.

Thoughts?

On new construction I routinely paint before the tile goes on. It's fine to paint now although you might have to do a little touch up later.
