Repairing wall damage around door frame
I would like to repair some damage from fire department forced entry to this door.
What would be suggested materials in starting this project. Thank you.

I couldn't tell from the pic, is there wood missing or is that just popped paint? If the latter all you need to do is use a little spackling on the wall, sand, prime, caulk and paint. If the wood is splintered/missing it would be best to replace that piece of casing. You could use a wood filler to make the repair but it would be prone to failure over time.

Was the flip lock activated when they entered? It doesn't look like it. I can see where they inserted their bar a few inches below the chain lock. I would replace that piece of wood & replace the flip lock with a newer dead bolt. Is there any damage to the door frame?

Thanks for the replies. It is more with what marksr indicated. Near the door is popped paint. The door is a steel door. There was slight damage to the door frame, the flip lock was placed after the new door was ordered. I will try some of the suggestions, thanks.
