Temporary Wall

I am having a relative stay at my place in the 14x13 family room. I wanted to know if there was a way to put up a temporary type wall to block that room off like its a normal bedroom? I'd really like to avoid building a framed wall and was wondering if there was some way to use like a ceiling track system and put up some divider wall that can be drawn to close and retracted to open. I'd rather not use curtains and would rather have a "barn door" type thing across the opening.

Is there anything like this available that is lightweight and sturdy?

You have too many criteria involved. "temporary" "lightweight" "sturdy" "barn door" "ceiling track". The only thing you didn't mention was "cheap".

Most anything you put up with a track will become permanent. Anything lightweight won't be sturdy. A barn door design will require very heavy track systems.

Pink Drywall (Chalk, not Paper)

I was removing some drywall in a partially finished basement room that I'm going to re-finish myself. There is a soffit in the ceiling that I started removing, but I found the drywall chalk was pink instead of white like the rest. I've never seen pink drywall before. (Again, the chalk, not the paper.) I've included a picture. [ATTACH]53929[/ATTACH] I google searched and really couldn't find anything definitive. I want to make sure it's not anything harmful, like Asbestos. I have a basic understanding that Asbestos is more fiber-ish which I don't see here. Have any of you ever seen this? Should I be calling a contractor and sealing the room off?

I know that these types of questions have been posted in the past. I live in a condo and , truthfully, the soundproofing between units is actually pretty good. We cannot hear things like people talking, TVs, and things like that. We did have some issues with low frequency bass from music, but one ticket from the cops put that issue to bed. My question involves the use of dense packed cellulose. My wife and I were going to do some painting and crown molding, but before we did, we thought about seeing if there was any additional sound dampening we could do. I am familiar with the decoupling method which seems too expensive and involve. I have heard really good things about dense packed cellulose. I had an insulator come out, who provided references for other people who used cellulose for noise reduction, and was actually surprised when he drilled some holes in our wall to learn that we had 6 inch open cavity in our walls with nothing but air. Am I wrong to assume that filling that with any type of Insulation, such as densed packed insulation would provide benefit ( ie something better than nothing). The insulator seemed to think we'd get a lot of benefit given the amount of unfilled space there. He claims cellulose performs well with lower frequency sound. Anyone have any experiences?? We do have some ups and downs with impact noises from our upstairs neighbors and the insulator rightfully said that cellulose would do very little for that kind of noise. He seems to be honest.
