Ceiling Covering Question
Currently remodeling my kitchen and have one area that I'm unsure of what to do with. The house was a single story ranch that had the back tore out and an addition put on. The entire back wall of the house was removed and a large addition added. The kitchen window was removed and now there is this ugly bulkhead where the wall once stood. There is a light on this bulkhead bottom but the plaster job is a wreck. I'd like to see what options are available to cover over this mess. My cabinets that are ordered are a dark Java color so something that would match that would be perfect.
The dimensions are: 15" wide by about 10-12' long. It's not a big area at all but certainly throws off the look of everything the way it is.

Your right that does look like a mess.
Unless you know a real pro sheet rock finisher or old time plaster that could skim coat this with a real wide knife, Id be tempted to rip it all down and start over.
No idea why they would have used plaster and not sheet rock instead and just caulked that seam.
Only have that one picture to go by but I can not imagine that style light being a good idea in that location..
