Hard to say. The date is borderline so could be. Are you removing it for a remodel?

In most cased it is just as important to have it tested to prove it is/was not asbestos as it is to determine how to handle it. Future home owners can have a house tested and if they find traces of asbestos they will go looking for who was responsible. If it tests positive, have it removed by a licensed contractor who will certify if is clean when finished and keep the results along with the name of his insurance company.

Just looks like sheetrock to me.
Only way to really know is to have it tested.
Little late now since you've already busted it up.

Thanks for your reply Bud9051. I am removing it for a remodel but it is not in my main house, it's in a cabin that was moved to my property many years ago. So I'm only concerned with how to handle it. I will have it tested, and then decide whether to proceed with the demo based on result.

I couldn't get the link to load but assume you are talking about asbestos texture. If you keep it damp while removing and containing the debris the health dangers are minimal. It's the air borne dust particles that are bad for you.
