ceiling water stains

There are water stains in ceiling, the areas are near A/C outlet. I have roof guy through homeowner insurance come to check the roof, no problem. I have A/C and plumber guys come to check through home warranty insurance, no problem.
It happens in February or March and I found it in April. My heating is gas. Any thoughts?

You said "areas", plural. Does that mean there is more than one register with water stains around it? I could understand condensation during the hot, muggy summer days but it's not something that happens when you are heating.

I assume there is an attic above the ceiling, do you have good access to check from above?
Obviously it's best to fix the cause first but when you get ready to touch up or paint the ceiling those water stains will need to be sealed with a solvent based primer. Water stains usually bleed thru latex primers/paints.

Forced hot air in the attic?
Are the lines insulated?
Attic been air sealed and the right amount of insulation, proper amount of attic venting?
Storm and ice shield under the shingles ran up to the heated envelope?
