Load bearing support props
I saw a video in the UK where props were used instead of build a support wall for removing a load bearing wall. In the UK the props are call Steel Acrow Props but after searching I cant find any of the props in the US. What are the name of these props that are used in the US?

Most often a temporary wall is built next to the wall being removed as it's usually quicker, cheaper and uses material already on site. Then then the temporary wall is no longer needed it can be disassembled and the materials re-used. I have seen temporary bracing like the Acrow's used in the USA but only in commercial and high rise construction. They are a specialized tool and you usually need many of them so it's not economical to buy or rent them for residential construction.
