Estimating Wall & Ceiling Repair Costs

Sorry if I am asking a general question and I have posted in the wrong place. Long story short, plumbing leaks have created mold and moisture damage. The insurance company says they will pay for any damage the moisture created and the R & R needed to replace the pipes. What created the problem is not covered. I am going to do as much of the work I can and hire the rest of it out. What stops me from doing it all is physical issues. I know insurance settlements are negotiable.

I want our number in my head before the insurance throws out their number. In the old days materials x 4 was the price. I am just looking at low budget floor, wall and ceiling costs. Thanks in advance.

You are correct. It's almost useless to ask online. Your location and the person you select for the work will have a huge impact. Big cities tend to be more expensive than rural. Also picking a mold and water remediation specialist will probably insure that you pay the highest price while some handy man will be less expensive.

In my area it has gotten difficult to find people to do small handy man and repair projects and their prices have risen. Don't be discouraged if you have to make a lot of calls because it can be hard to find someone willing to make the drive and hassle with a small job.
