Sorry if I am asking a general question and I have posted in the wrong place. Long story short, plumbing leaks have created mold and moisture damage. The insurance company says they will pay for any damage the moisture created and the R & R needed to replace the pipes. What created the problem is not covered. I am going to do as much of the work I can and hire the rest of it out. What stops me from doing it all is physical issues. I know insurance settlements are negotiable. I want our number in my head before the insurance throws out their number. In the old days materials x 4 was the price. I am just looking at low budget floor, wall and ceiling costs. Hello, So I opened two receptacle size holes in my walls, one upstairs and another on the main floor, but there seems to be no running cable down from the top floor to the main floor and the main floor to the basement. It seems to be all concrete or bricks. Is this common in homes, granted my home was built in the 40s. The only other option is to run cables from the outside, drills holes and pull the cables outside to reach other rooms in the house.
