ceiling tile replacement
hey all, i need to replace some tiles. i thought it was a suspended system. well, looking at the pic, apparently i was wrong. im sure its easy enough to fix, i'm just not sure how to do it. could i get some help with this? im looking for a video. i keep finding for a suspended ceiling. im not even sure what i have is.

I've always called it a tile ceiling. I'm not sure if you can even buy it any more. I believe they quit using it in the 60s. If I remember correctly the tiles were stapled to 1xs on the ceiling along with interlocking together. The majority of those types of ceilings have been torn down and replaced with drywall.

Marksr is correct. You'll be lucky to find replacements. HD sells surface mounting tiles but among the many patterns I don't see any thing like the old stuff that you have.

ok, i found these. but if you look on the metal beams, there is a small broken piece connected to some kind of 'stabbing hook' that looks like the tile pushes into. am i seeing that right?
