Cracks in the ceiling corner & nail pops

Hi, I noticed a small crack in the corner of the ceiling about a year ago. Since then it has been slowly but steadily growing and now I see nail pops alongs the crack. Is this a foundation problem or something to do with roof?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rast

Doubtful it's a foundation issue although that is possible - any settlement cracks in the foundation?
It could be a framing issue or maybe the hanging/finishing job wasn't the best. I'd repair it and keep an eye out to see if it returns.

I walked around the house and didn't see any cracks in the foundation.
Thanks for quick reply.

A common occurrence, how old is the house?

If the house has trusses, the cracks are due to the rising and falling of the trusses as they expand and contract from winter to summer.

This house was built in 2000.
