Partition Under Load Bearing Beam

I have a 48" partition wall underneath and 18' span that I would like to remove. There is, what I am assuming to be, a load-bearing beam made up of 3 2x8s. Would this beam be in danger of sagging if this partition is removed? Or are there any other issues that could arise if I attempt this?

Yes it's likely it would sag since its overspanned and undersized to begin with.
