Will the cold damage my drywall?
I have a new built and I'm just finishing hanging the drywall, no plaster in any of the seams yet, drywall just screwed onto studs. Weather is colder now and with all the rain and thawing of snow my front yard (700 feet to the road) is filled with water and the gas company is waiting to run a gas line. The inside of the house is getting colder but not below freezing, will the cold damage the drywall I have already have hung on the ceilings and walls? Should I wait to finish hanging the rest of the drywall?

I hope not, lol... I live in Maine and just sr my garage ceiling where it gets down to 20 if its below zero outside. just don't tape and mud it until it gets above 50.

Had unfinished drywall out at the lake on the ceilings for several years never had a problem.
Where I am it gets down to 40 below so I do not think you have anything to worry about.

I have a 'spray booth' in my barn that was drywalled 25+ yrs ago, it's only heated when in use. While you need temps above freezing while applying the mud and letting it dry - the cold temps won't hurt the drywall or the mud once it has dried.

I only have drywall on my walls and ceilings, no mud or tape yet. I don't plan on doing any mud or tape until my heat is in so I can keep the inside over 50 degrees. Thanks for all the advice, I'll be able to sleep a little better at night, thanks again....
