Drywall thickness

The ceiling joists in my house are 2x4 and 24" on center and span 25feet. I am replacing the ceiling because it was sagging/pillowing. Should I use 5/8 or 1/2 lightweight drywall to prevent sagging. Previous drywall thickness is 1/2. Should I sister 2x6 or 2x8 before adding the drywall or add new joists 16on center or cross brace?

Seriously? 2x4 joists that span 25 feet? Who took out the supporting walls? Or do you have trusses? If trusses, use 5/8" drywall, running perpendicular to the joists.
