Do you need a vapor barrier behind tongue and groove board in a bathroom?
Just got done hanging drywall in my daughters bathroom, now she wants to put tongue and groove pine board on one walls, do I need any kind of vapor barrier behind the pine board? Should I paint the drywall it's going over to help make it moisture proof? The pine board would be going on a interior warm wall..

If you stain and/or apply 1 coat on the T&G prior to installation it will save you some time. I like to stain [or not] apply a coat of poly, sand when dry and apply another coat. It goes a lot quicker when working with a saw horse. After installation I'll use colored putty on any exposed nail holes and apply the final coat.

I'll stain and poly the pine board before putting it on the wall.
What about the drywall behind the pine board? Should I apply a coat of primer or something for any kind of moisture that may get between the drywall and pine board?
