I am tearing out my old iron tub and replacing it with a 2 piece tub unit. I am also tearing out the surrounding old drywall. I know that I need to get the tub in place first before I put up the new drywall. But, am I not supposed to put some sort of metal piece where the drywall meets the top of the new tub unit?

Cool

Hello,

I've seen these metal corner pieces on older houses that I've remodeled. I've never been able to figure out the intended purpose of them. Don't worry about it, just start the sheetrock about 1/2 inch off the tub.

Good Luck!
