I'm renovating my bathroom and we just dry fit the tub in place. Around the front of the tub, there is a stud that sticks out and tapers down from 1 1/8th to 3/4 of an inch. I'm wondering what the best way to go about finishing this area would be. Tile it, just a strip of drywall or something else?
Thanks a lot and if you think I'd have better luck in another forum, please let me know.

Need help diagnosing the cracking and dimpling in my kitchen ceiling. The picture with the lights shows the total view… the edges of the cracking almost form about a 3x4-foot rectangle and there is dimpling in the middle area. I have also included a closeup picture of the dimpling and one of the cracks.
There is a unit (my neighbor) above me and her kitchen is directly above mine. I thought perhaps the issues in the ceiling were due to a possible leak in my neighbor’s kitchen.
However, I had a plumber come and his feeling was that the ceiling doesn’t appear to have water damage. And he also assessed my neighbor’s kitchen which he said was dry.
Does anyone know what the cracking and dimpling might be? Does it need to be repaired?
I tore down a glass block wall, and there's some residual mortar still clinging to the painted drywall. I removed a good portion with a masonry chisel, but it ain't perfect. What's the best way to make that wall smooth and paintable again? (Without replacing that section of wall...)
Thanks
