Wall stains through duct tape

I recently placed duct tape on a wall, after a few days the duct tape appeared to ôleakö and left a stain along one side. The stain appears to grow and will not be covered up by paint. My walls are latex but probably have lead paint underneath. Is this hazardous and how do I fix this? Any advice is appreciated.

Not sure why duct tape was installed but the repair looks like it still needs some work. Looks like you need some drywall repair, patching and sanding. After that you need to prime the repair with several coats of primer.

Touching up a paint spot on a wall never works very well, repainting the entire wall will provide the best look!

You should use a oil based stain blocking primer. Then repaint the wall with your usual latex.
