Sagging of verical wall drywall/gyprock from ceiling seam

Bought the apartment last year and have just gotten round to figuring what/why and how about these wall saggings (see pics).
Just want to know if it may present a real problem and if I should get on top of some diy light reading pronto

Welcome to the forums!
That looks strange, is it the tape that is coming loose? The drywall appears to be flat.

I think it might be a piece of wood, scribed to fit.

Forty years of designing highrise and lowrise apartment buildings and I haven't seen anything like that. Maybe a sound or fire rated wall/ceiling that has been caulked and the caulk is being squeezed out?? Do you have a management company that might know what that is, on the theory it's not peculiar to just one apartment?

Edit. It also just occurred to me that if some normal deflection (bending) of the structure above the wall is anticipated, there are recommended details to stop the wall short of the ceiling and caulk that joint. Here are some details of what I'm talking about https://paktechpoint.com/partition-d...dard-drawings/

Thanks for the link and ideas all. I probably should've explained as well as the photos aren't great. The photos are taken pointing up at the ceiling and that gap/indent runs around the entire apartment ceiling edge. The bowing occurs in three spots around the apartment but I will ask the building manager for more deets too. Would be interesting if the wall on the other sides apartment bows out. It does indeed look like it's been caulked. Hmmm I will keep reading.
