Attaching cloud ceiling to popcorn ceiling
I saw a video on creating a cloud ceiling in our kids' rooms. I have seen videos where they either attach the polyfil or wool to the ceiling using poster board duct taped, double sided tape or stapled to the ceiling. The rooms have popcorn ceiling so I am not sure which method would be best tp use to avoid permanent damage to the ceiling. Does anyone have any insight on which method would be more effective doing the least damage. I watched a video where they mentioned the florida heat and humidity may make the duct tape method less appealing. Can anyone offer any ideas? Thanks.

3M makes some removable tapes but popcorn is about the most easily damaged surface I've encountered so I wouldn't assume anything.

I'd be leery of applying anything over popcorn - even paint can be problematic if older popcorn has never been painted before. Humidity doesn't play nice with unpainted popcorn.
If I intended to go forward with this project I'd scrape off the popcorn first.

If you use rolled sheets of batting I would just use thumb tacks or push pins. But, as mentioned, popcorn is very delicate so everything is going to damage it or leave a mark.
