I have recently purchased an older home(late 1800's). As I began scraping off the wallpaper and paint off of the upstairs walls, I quickly realized that it is not drywall that I'm dealing with(suprise, suprise!!). I think that it must be plaster on wood lathing, but I'm not sure. It looks like concrete. Is this plaster? Should I tear it down and put up drywall? The ceiling is covered with this material as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
