I need to hang kitchen cabinets on a tiled wall which is also an outside wall. My 24" corner cabinet must span this tile wall on one side & a plaster wall on the other. I'm not having much luck with my stud-finder. It either doesn't read at all, or lights up across the width of the tiled wall. Help!!! The rest of the walls are plaster , so hopefully directions I've found on this forum will be guidance enough. all. It is only one wall that is tiled. Thanks.

wall studs are generally 16" on center. electrical outlets
and switches are generally mounted to one these studs. so
on the wall you need to find a stud, start at an outlet or
switch that isn't near a window or door and determine which
side of the stud that the box is mounted to. then measure
over to your cabinet and mark that stud. drill a
test hole behind the cabinet to make sure you found it.
if it isn't there, swear at the guy who built your house,
mark the outer edge of your cabinet, and start drilling
holes from there every inch to the corner until you do find one.

good luck
