Drywall Cost

I have finished framing in 500 sq ft of my Basement for finishing. This 500 sq ft includes a bathroom and 2 closets. I got a quote from a drywall hanger for $1300.00 to finish this 500sq ft area including the ceiling. All finished areas will be a flat finish. The drywaller said he would furnish the mud, screws, nails, glue and corner bead.

He mentioned I would need to provide 40 4x12 1/2 inch drywall and 8 4x8 1/2 inch blue board for the bathroom.

Please give any comments if this is a fair price for a job this size.

thanks

The market rates depend on geographic area. My suggestion is for 2 or 3 quotes and check references. My (sight unseen) quote would have been 1260.00 without supplies.........

Can you get 12' sheet into the basement?

The only way you'll know if the quote is fair is to get at least three quotes.

One thing to consider: Can you get a 12' sheet into your basement? If you don't have a walkout, then chances are slim. If you cannot, then how does using all 8' sheets affect the finishing price?
