Drywalling over damaged plaster walls

what is the best way to do this? Also, what is the best type of door casings to use if doing this project? Thanks

Your best bet is to remove the plaster and lath first.

If you don't your wall will not be flat and you will have to modify all of you casements to extend the extra 1/2 inch.

Yeah, I know, it is a lot of work. But that is what being a do it yourselfer is all about. Doing it right.
