bubbles in drywall mud

Why do I keep getting air bubbles when I am coating drywall?

Most likely you are not putting enough mud under the tape. Put a lot on the wall, bed your tape and really mash it down.

Sorry just read that again and I think I misunderstood. If you are getting air bubbles in your mud then you are probably putting too much on at one time. Try putting less on and more coats. If you have smooth walls your final coat will fill in any pot marks or air bubbles. Some people say put some dish soap in your mud. I disagree with this because it weakens the glue in the mud. But if nothing else works try a little soap.
