I'm trying to fix the water damaged ceiling that might present molding. The circle of damage is about one feet wide. How do I fix this? Step by step instruction is much appreciate it.

Thanks.

Assuming that you're talking about a sheetrocked ceiling, if the drywall is still hard, you can just seal the stain with a good sander-primer-sealer like Kilz or Benjamin Moore SPS, and paint over it.
If it is textured ceiling with texture missing, you can texture repair in a spray can, then seal and paint it.
If the drywall is soft and ruined, you can cut it out back to the center of the nearest ceiling joists, screw a new piece of drywall in, tape and mud the seams, and then seal and paint it.
Good Luck!
Mike
