Question Will someone PLEASE answer my plaster question?!

HELP! I have researched this site (thoroughlly) and cannot find any info on plastering. I have removed a plaster wall down to the lath and would like to plaster a new wall. I don't want to use "blueboard" (I think that's what I read that one person did - I may as well put up new drywall!). Can someone please supply me with some info or a link as far as what supplies I need (I understand there are 3 coats/steps). Also, Lowe's nor Home Depot carry plaster mix (only plaster patch kits) - where do I go to find the supplies? I know that plastering takes YEARS of experience to master, but I'd like to give it a shot. Any info would be helpful!! Thanks.

A professional plasterer would use blue board. The plaster skim coat covers the blue board similar to the scratch coat on old plaster walls. You would never be able to tell the two apart.
