in process of building partion to separate my entry into home from den... partition is 6x7.. only anchored on to 1 wall and bolted into floor how do i stabalize tthe top havent installed cap yet cap/ will be 1x8 with crown moulding and wall is manufacture from 2x4 with studs evry 16" and " 1 set fire blok\ck mid way up and across where can i reinforce of add to stabilize wall... this is non load bearing.... HELP thanks are there plans that i can look up somewhere for comparision?

What I have done in the past is cut a hole in the floor just large enough for the last stud to extend down thru the floor and into the joist space below. Then the end is attached to some blocking in the joist space from the basement. If you don't have a basement or access to the joist space, I don't have any good ideas. Anyone else?
