I recently patched a hole and I'm getting ready to finish by painting. Only problem is the wall has texture, the hole does not. How do I apply a little texture?
Hi There:
Most building supply stores offer a variety of texture products to go over drywall. Some can be sprayed on or rolled on. Check with your nearest building supply store.
I am removing wallpaper from my dining room and when I took down a very large window treatment (valance, curtains, etc.) I found a place in the corner of the ceiling/wall where there is water damage. The leak has been fixed because we have not had any problems with it but the ceiling and wall were never repaired. The previous owner had painted the ceiling to try to cover the spot but it all needs to be repaired. I have read about repairing drywall (patching holes, etc.) but I have no idea how to repair the ceiling, and do I repair the damaged drywall the same way that I would repair it if there were a hole? Please help me! I want to try to do this job myself, or at least know how it should be done before I ask my husband to help me. I told him that this is my project and I'm going to learn how to do it myself.
I have a newer model mobile home with textured wallcovering. I am wanting to repaint or paper and don't know what to do with the strips that are spaced every four feet or smaller in some places. There are strips at the top at the corners, small spaces, etc. I am afraid that if I take them off, 1. how do I refinish the wall to the same texture that is on the original wall board that has a coated surface and 2. how do I paper over this same surface in the bathrooms. The house is five years old and ready for some new colors, but I am in a quandry as to how to tackle these walls. The gaps nromally between the panels are rather large.
