Question Shower Temp Inconsistent

Everytime I take a shower I will set the water temperature comfortably then during the shower the water will randomly get insanely hot, then freezing, then back to normal for a while and then this happens all over again. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Thanks.

Higginbe, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Are you the only one in the house at the time? Is this an apartment or Duplex/triplex or other multiple unit?
If it's multiple use, even though each unit has seperate water heaters and the like, the water main that feeds the units is probably the same one. Any other usage of water while you are in the shower takes away the water pressure thus giving you the opposite effect. Could be someone in your own home. If they run hot water, you'll get frozen. They run cold, you get boiled. The only way to end this is to install an anti-scald shower valve. It senses any drop in pressure of hot or cold water and equalizes the temperature. Good Luck and reply back with any other questions.
