Rheem Water Heater
Hello,
I have a 50 gallon Rheem water heater which is working fine. I just don't know how old it is. Someone told me the first 4 digits of the serial number reflect the month and year. Based on that.....mine says 0690, which would mean June 1990, making this tank 18 years old.
Does that sound about right ?.

According to http://www.buyerschoiceinspections.c...er-Heater-Ages
that is correct.
Is this is an electric water heater? That's a little past average life span for an electric and way past average for a gas model.
