Thermostat Question ?

The old thermostat on my water heater has only one disc on the back but I cant find a replacement one with just one disc.

Its a APCOM WH8S which I cant find either.

Is it OK the use the ones with 2 discs as long as I get one with the same number of contacts (screws)?

I am pretty sure what you are showing me here is an upper the Upper Thermostat with the Emergency Cut Out, (ECO).

I's been a few years...

As long as it looks like that on the top and has the correct amount or screw connections you will be fine. I usually change out all the controls to be safe. I have tested them and two weeks later I am back replacing the other control. Cheap money. The lower thermostat, provided you have one will only have 2 screw connections on it if I remember correctly. Sometimes they put a ECO on the bottom also but it is not needed as long as you have one on the top
