240 Volt element instead of 230 Volt

I have a residential water heater in a mobil home, that needs to have an element replaced. The surrent element is 3500 Watt 230 Volts. All I can find is a 3500 Watt 240 Volt element. CanI use the larger Voltage element without hurtin anything??

Short answer..yes...you will lose a bit of wattage..but not enough to worry about.

Uhhh..wait..is this a residential or commercial application? That MAY make a difference to the Experts (which I am not).

Hey Gunguy, I believe you (for whatever that's worth!!)

230 volt or 240 volt -- it won't matter. That's just two different mfgrs. calling it two different things. Otherwise, it's the same thing. (A double pole circuit running off of the incoming voltage.)
