Tankless Water Heater - LP to NG Conversion

I have a Paloma 7.4 series LP tankless outdoor water heater. However, I want to convert it to Natural Gas. I called Paloma and spoke to a subject who could barely speak English and told me that it could not be done because it was an electrically controlled unit (they all are which did not make much sense). I was hoping that I could just replace the orifice but he told me that I had to replace the flute, baffle, and a host of other things. Any recommendations on this or am I out of luck. Thanks, Brendan

In general, forget it! They are different, and it is not a simple matter to convert. From Paloma: lWater heaters utilizing LP gas are different
from natural gas models. A natural gas
water heater will not function safely on LP
gas and vice versa.
l No attempt should ever be made to convert
the water heater from natural gas to LP
gas. To avoid possible equipment damage,
personal injury or fire, do not connect the
water heater to a fuel type not in
accordance with the unit data plate;
propane for propane units and natural gas
for natural gas units. These units are not
certified for any other fuel type.

Note that it does not actually say you can't convert FROM LP to NATURAL. But they will never volunteer the information, and doing it on your own violates the AGA, UL, etc certs and raises legal ( code ) issues.
