Water Heater Pilot goes out during rain - any fixes?
I have a Defender FVIR water heater (I can give more details on the model if needed). Whenever there are heavy rains, the pilot goes out. I called the Gas Company and the technician told me that it is a design flaw with these water heaters. He explained that California law requires water heaters to have these filters that are near the bottom of the unit. When it rains, the filters get wet and the pilot goes out.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix for it?
