hot water

why is it that I can run out of hot water in the shower,but go the kitchen sink and have hot water???

Are you sure you are really running out? What about the sink in the bathroom? Could be an issue with the valve for the shower.

Also, without more info about your plumbing and hot water supply..it's hard to answer.

there is hot water everywhere else but the shower??????????.You can start having a shower with handle straight up but in 5 minutes, you have to turn it all the way left to finish.Get out to shave and the water is really hot??????

What brand and model of shower valve? It sounds like a Moen Positemp or equivalent. That kind of valve has a mechanical stop to limit how far it turns and thereby limits the amount of hot that is blended with the cold. It also makes a difference as to the temperature setting of the water heater thermostat.
