Pilot Light Out in Heat

I have a AO Smith ProMax+ Water Heater. It is located in my garage 18 inches off the ground. The house was built in 2006 and the WH was installed at that time. Every time the temperature get hot, the pilot light goes out. Any day when the temp gets a above 90, it goes out. When I go to re-light it, it will kick on with no issues. During the winter, no problems what so ever.

Anyone have any thoughts?

The unit may just be clogged with lint.

If its a 100 series then there is a corderite disk that needs to be cleaned and vacuumed.

Do a search in the water heater forum and you will find many posts and write ups regarding this. Also , although not covered under warranty, the rest of your heaterv may still be. Depending on when it was installed.

If you are not going to try to repair yourself I would call AO smith to see what your options are.
