AO Smith power vent--> to --> old replacement exhaust system issue.

I had a power shot system, water shorted out the exhaust, so I found a replacement on craigslist, and it works fine, but the exhaust for the old one was 2 inch PVC right out the side of the house.

The replacement with a manual pilot lighting, and no vent, not sure what its called, but I only need to know if it is not wise to use the same exhaust setup or ...? Could use some direction.

I'm having a hard time understanding what you are asking. In this case a pic would say a million words.

No way.

I believe your taking a power vent ( PVC) vs a atmospheric vent that you now obtained, ( B vent)

Not wise Confucius say....

So I have the duct that I can assemble... but do I have to attach this to my chimney or can I run it horizontal to the hole the PVC went out of?

And yes, I was trying to use the pvc pipe for a non pvc setup. I already went down after I posted and realized the PVC piece that was touching the Metal shroud had melted... so it is way hotter then the other tank setup. Its currently off.
