ADDAVYDOV - Bradford White water heater questions

I am sorry if I did not read the complete post thread (it was very elaborate) and missed anything.
I have a 50-gallon Bradford White water heater, model # MI5036EN10. This morning it took the water longer than usual to heat up, so I panicked and visually inspected it from my very-very low expertise level height. The pilot was on, and the flame started every time I raised the thermostat temperature. The water got hot and stayed hot later on, so I did not catch if there was a real problem.
1. I opened a drain valve, and the water was clean.
2. The flame was uniformly blue.
3. The relief valve or its like on top worked (when I pressed on it, the water drained down the pipe on the floor.
4. I had some stuff lying around the flue on top of the tank - I removed it.
Could this be the reason? Maybe the sensors detected that the fumes could not escape because of this stuff? But it was not in the flue but around it outside.
5. My heater is 10 years old.

* Do you think I may have a problem?
* Is it easy to replace TC?
* Where is it located?

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated in advance.

Could be the dip tube. Explain the longer to heat up thing? Longer to get to the bath? HW did not last as long?

Possibly sediment or t stat sensor has calcium deposits.... Could be lots of things.

10 years maybe replace instead of throwing money at it.
