Oil Furnace Domestic Hot water.

Hi, I got a lot of good advice on here what to do to disconnect the domestic hot water from my oil furnace and install an electric water heater. New water heater isn't going to be located by the furnace because the kitchen, bathroom and laundry are in the back side of the basement and furnace is in the front.. Question is, instead of disconnecting pipes at the furnace and caping them off, Would it be possible to just add a shutoff on the hot water side of the tankless heater and leave everything else as is?
Thanks,
Joe

Normally when you abandon the coil you want to leave the in and out open... and not closed...
