Anode Rod

Should I go ahead and change out the aluminum rod for a magnesium on the newly installed WH or just wait 1 or 2 years out? What's your thoughts and opinions? Curious.

finding anode rod

Trying to locate and change the anode rod in my Whirlpool E1F50RD045V water heater. I bought the water heater 2 years ago. According to the manual it's under the plastic cap slightly to the right of the middle of the tank. I dug through about 3 inches of insulation and hit the metal but it was not the anode rod. Does anyone have any idea where I might find it? And what should I do about the insulation (Is it necessary? How do I replace it?)

T & P valve needs half turn more

I just installed the T & P valve on the top of my new water heater. But it's pointing the wrong way. I need to rotate it half turn more. I have 3 wraps of teflon tape. Would it be ok to add more wraps of tape or less wraps so that I can get the valve pointing the right way? Thanks
