hot water heater for hot tub and home?

We recently moved into an older home. It has a hot tub that does not have a water heater (removed sometime ago before we moved in). The home hot water heater needs replacing (as it has started to make noises.

I wonder if the I can use one external heater for both? I realize that the chemicals of pool/hot tub may concern some, but it is a saltwater pool so we don't put chemicals in the pool.

This seems much more economical than buying two 100,000 BTU heaters.

It's only me and my wife in the home.

You can't use one water heater to heat hot tub water and domestic drinking water.

You have a pool and a hot tub ? That would definitely require its own heater.

Thanks. It wouldn't heat the pool, just the hot tub.

Hot tub water isn't drinkable? (seriously)

If you did, you would certainly drop your resale value by the amount it would take to install a proper water heater plus a little more for the pain in the lower extremities, because of it.

Just my opinion.
