Water heater randomly fails to ignite

I have an 11 year old AO Smith model FPSH 50 260 (46K BTU). This is a power-vented, electronic ignition unit. When it works, which is 99.9% of the time, it works great however; once in a while we have no hot water. I go to the unit, power off the vent, lower the t-stat to the lowest setting, wait 1 minute, then power up the vent, turn up the t-stat, and the unit starts and continues to work for several days without issue. I have noticed that when the issue happens, there is a green flashing light on the t-stat. When working, this light is on solid.

Being that the unit is 11 years old, I am inclined to replace it altogether but would also like to know if anyone has experienced this and is it an easy fix. The unit is not leaking or anything. This house was a model home so even though the mfg date indicates 11 years old, actual service time is more like 9.

Thanks.
