Sulfur smell

Sulfur smell

Hi All, why would I get a sulfur smell when I run my hot water ?

If it's only the hot water then it's time to change the anode tube in the heater to a magnesium one.

There is sulfur bacteria in the water and while harmless it causes that smell. You need to chlorinate your well.

No well, city water.

I would also have a casual conversation with the water department in case they are aware of the problem and have a solution.

But Joe's suggestion sound good.
