Talking Rheem 42VP40FW

I have a Rheem 42VP40FW Power Vent Hot Water Heater. I recently noticed that I ran out of hot water.

I have reset the Heater. The pilot light will go on.... then the flame will ignite. But, the flame only stays lit for 2 seconds and goes out.

I removed the burner and flame sensor. The burner had a bit of rust/soot on it. gave everything a good cleaning with steel wool. Re-installed and it now works. Just thought I'd leave this info, in case anyone else experiences a similar problem. I should have made sure it was cleaned yearly.

I used this video as a reference for burner removal.

I pretty much copied/pasted ALL of the above from an old thread. I tried to post to that previous thread but got an error message because the older post was too old, so i decided to make this new one. The linked video was tremendously helpful. There were a few slight differences, but if you know how to use hand tools, you should be able to adjust accordingly!
