cpvc cemented joint

Connecting a CPVC coupler to an old 1/2 inch CPVC pipe in a tight space earlier, did not push the CPVC pipe all the way into the coupler before the cement hardened. Turned on the water, no leak. But still kind of worried, what are the chances that the joint will suddenly break in the future?

Was it fresh glue ?
PVC glues work by melting the PVC together.
If it was older/weaker glue.... I'd question it.

the glue is fresh, the cpvc pipe is old, the coupler is new, did not push all the way in, no leak right now, wondering the chance that the joint will break in the future. It is behind the wall, that's why the worry.

If there's any question.... it needs to be replaced. Too risky to bury it.

The depth of the joint is there to ensure that enough material chemical melted, and bonded, to ensure a strong joint, If the pipe was not fully seated, you have a comprimised joint that is currently sealed but weak!

How well do you want to sleep?

I had a similar scenario between my bath rm and the water heater closet. I left that portion of the wall open for a few yrs until I finally remodeled the bath rm 2 yrs ago. I've not had any leak. Had it been more accessible I would have cut it out and redone it. So far so good.

How far did the pipe get pushed into the fitting?
